I asked you how old your cars are and learned THIS:

The car enthusiast's newsletter

Good morning everyone,

Are you planning on keeping your car forever?

It turns out, you're not alone.

Yeah, there's a type-o. I didn't make it. Kill me lol.

Here's what's going on this week:

➡️ Poll results: How old is your car?

➡️ Was this the American version of the Type R? 👀

➡️ Another million mile Tundra!

➡️ more, of course 💬

My favorite detailing products:🚗

A lot of you have been asking me about detailing products lately.

I figure since spring is here, now is a good time to share my existing list of my favorite products and gear.

You can check it out here: (Feel free to browse through the blog as well!)

Poll results: How old is your car? 🏁

A few days ago, I asked people on YouTube how old their car was.

The results were pretty interesting:

Only 9% of you have cars under 5 years old.

The clear majority are between 11 and 20 years old but that isn't what surprised me here.

You guys didn't just vote, a lot of you left comments as well.

It was cool to see what types of vehicles you own and their mileage.

What I wasn't expecting to see was a bunch of comments that had something in common:

You plan to keep your car forever.

That's so awesome!

But it got me thinking - what do we need to do to ensure our vehicles last as long as possible?

Here are some quick tips:

  • Proper driving habits: Avoid aggressive acceleration and braking, and drive gently until reaching operating temperature.
  • Keep it clean: Detailing isn't just for clean freaks. Regular washing and waxing protects the paint and prevents rust, while interior cleaning prevents wear on surfaces like seats and carpets.
  • Address issues promptly: Don’t ignore unusual sounds, vibrations, or warning lights - small problems can become major if left unchecked.
  • Park wisely: When possible, park in covered areas to protect from sun damage and harsh weather.
  • Regular maintenance: Stay on top of your maintenance schedule. Things like fluid changes and timing belt replacements make a huge difference in how long your vehicle will last.

We've been working hard on building the ultimate maintenance tracker to help you stay on top of this stuff easily.

It'll be ready soon... You'll be the first to know and there will be a heavy discount for the first 20 users!

Also, stay tuned on YouTube for lots of helpful detailing content coming up!

Another million mile Tundra?

Yup, and as you can probably predict, it isn't a new V6. Another 2nd Gen has crossed to 7 digits on the odometer and interestingly, this is the owner's 2nd million mile Tundra!

Pretty cool!

Confusion over the future of the Lexus LS

Lexus has been teasing the release of an all new ES and they referred to it as the "flagship" model. Many people took that to mean that the current flagship's days were numbered (the LS).

It turns out, the issue was actually with the translation from Japanese to English - in Japan, "flagship" means that it's a core model. Important to the brand, but not the pinnacle.

The folks at Motor1 reached out to Lexus and confirmed that the LS isn't going anywhere... for now.

This piece on the Neon ACR was an interesting read

Was the 90's Dodge Neon ACR the American version of the legendary Integra Type R? This owner seems to think so.

I know that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder and all that but I have to admit this opened my mind a bit.

Of course, the Honda is still better in every way. But he makes some good points. Is a cheap old Neon one of the best value buys for a fun car?

Don't tell anyone I said all that, k?

Want to relax and watch a new Supra get washed?

I think Vermijl Car Detail is a slept on channel despite being a decent size and getting plenty of views.

Maybe it's a location thing but I don't really hear anyone talking about his vids outside of his own channel.

I think it's worth checking out - his detailing vids have a chilled out vibe to them and this one is no exception.

Side note: this guy is the king of using a "generous" amount of product... he could do 5 cars with what he sprays on! 😂
