Good morning everyone,

How I spent the hours I saved by NOT using a hose to wash my truck:

Here's what's going on this week:

โžก๏ธ How to wash/clay/seal a truck in 39 mins (3 products, no hose!) ๐Ÿซง

โžก๏ธ The secret to making your car shiny WITHOUT a paint correction

โžก๏ธ A new Days of Thunder movie is coming ๐Ÿ‘€

โžก๏ธ more, of course ๐Ÿ’ฌ

โ€‹This week's video ๐Ÿš—

In this week's video, I challenge myself to wash, clay bar, and seal our Tacoma in under an hour... without using a hose.

And since I know everyone is going to claim that I put scratches and swirl marks in the paint, I made sure to take a close up look before and after to see any damage.

This is an interesting experiment, for sure!

Can't do a paint correction? Do this instead: ๐Ÿ

If you want your car to look better than all the others in the parking lot, having a paint correction done is the answer 95% of the time.

It doesn't matter if it's 40 years old or 4 days old - nearly every vehicle out there can benefit from this.

If you aren't familiar, the term "Paint correction" refers to the process of removing scratches and blemishes through a multi-step process of compounding and polishing (and sometimes wet sanding).

This is very time-consuming. It can take anywhere from 2 or 3 days to 2 weeks, depending on the vehicle and the skillset of the detailer.

Since time = money, hiring someone to do this for you gets expensive fast.

But man, the gloss and depth of the paint afterwards make a car stand out in a huge way.

What if you don't have $1,000+ to spend or days of spare time to do it yourself?

There's another option that is much more accessible.

It's called an "all-in-one" polish and it too, can make your car stand out.

It's exactly what it sounds like - 1 step, 1 product, 1 pad, that polishes and protects your paint.

You apply it with a polisher and wipe it off with a towel. That's it. That's the whole process.

It takes WAY less time than chasing every single scratch and trying to achieve perfection.

I've done an entire 4Runner with this process in a couple of hours.

If you own a dual-action polisher (or are willing to buy one), you can do this yourself.

Unlike more aggressive paint correction products and techniques, there's very little risk of causing damage here.

I like to combine a product like 3D Speed with heavy cut foam pads like the orange ones from Lake Country.

If this sounds a little over your head, you can hire a detailer to do it for you - and they'll charge a fraction of what a paint correction costs.

As you'd expect, the results are not the same as a full paint correction.

The deeper scratches will remain, but the rest of the paint will look incredibly wet and glossy.

The truth is, the average car owner can't see the difference between paint that's been polished to perfection and paint that's just glossy.

They just see a shiny car.

Using an all-in-one product on your paint will make your car look amazing. Give it a try!

Sources say there's a new Days of Thunder movie coming

Jerry Bruckheimer (the producer of the original movie) told an ET reporter that a 2nd movie is not only coming, but Tom Cruise is already on board.

This was one of my favorite movies as a kid. Let's hope they don't send the drivers to space to fight crime like the Fast n Furious franchise did ๐Ÿคฃ.

Honda's new program will begin making parts for discontinued models like the NSX

Who doesn't love to see JDM legends being restored?

Parts for these old Japanese cars are becoming harder and harder to find.

I know this because my buddy spent several days repairing his original door trim pieces because he couldn't find replacements.

โ€‹Honda's program will start next spring and will include "some" discontinued models. Perhaps the S2000 too?

Speaking of NSXs being restored, another one has been saved

Dustin Williams posted a video recently that documents some of the bigger restoration work done to the NSX he imported from Japan.

It got a fresh Formula Red paint job, and the entire undercarriage was blasted with dry ice. Satisfying stuff!
